Saturday, July 10, 2010 05:49 - Just before 6 am the box alarm was transmitted for a house fire reported at 2158 Birch Drive, Whitemarsh Township. PD arrived on scene reporting a Kitchen Fire. DC56 arrived on scene with heavy smoke showing. DC56 advised E29 they would be first in and to lead off 1-3/4”. E29 arrived on location to find a two story middle of the row with fire toward the rear of the building. The engine company stretched 200 ft 1-3/4” line through the front door. TW29 arrived, taking the front of the building, and placed several ladders to the front and rear, conducted searches, and opened up. SD56 laid 600’ of line to E29 to establish a water supply. The engine company quickly located a kitchen fire in the rear of the dwelling and brought it under control. Barren Hill was available after 90 minutes of service.
